Goodbye n73

I purchased the n79 today. Waiting for it to arrive in the mail. The n73 has served me well, and I can't believe some of the pictures that came off this thing. With 5mp on n79, it's going to be a real treat.

Twitter!

I've been a skeptic for quite a while now. Being a die hard jaiku fan I refused to use twitter especially because of the slick symbian interface on my n73 that jaiku brought. But after signing up for twitter out of boredom I realized there are a lot more ways to twitter than jaiku. Twitter also seems to be more common among WoW fans which I'd rather "tweet" with. I discovered twibble and twitterfox through other twitter users. I can even use simple sms to post presences.

Get excitied! N78 is here!

I just caught Jonathan's overview of the n78, and now I am even more excitied about getting this device. It was recently released and the overview touches some of the upgrades from it's predecessor and new functions that come with Feature Pack 2. I'm a long time n73 user and some of the visual changes (i.e transition glows) in the n78 are nifty. It gives the phone a sleeker feel to it's already slick appearence.

My co-worker Talha left for Pakistan a couple of days ago. He's bringing me an unlocked Asian version of the n78 when he returns. I am already excitied!!

Whats also interesting to mention is, Buy.com had the n78 up for about $470 a couple of weeks ago and now it's no where to be found.

On the other hand Buy.com has the Nokia N73 retailed at $272, which is about $30 cheaper than what I got mine for. Make it your first nseries device today! You won't be disappointed.

N73 does the job!

I just finished transfering over 200 images from my nokia n73. About 80 of them were from my trip to Seattle just this past week. It also included about an hours worth of video footage. I am absolutely amazed at the picture qualities this thing yields. It's no high end digi cam, but I'd say for being a camera phone this thing packs quite the punch. I'll be upgrading to the n78 in the near future and the camera specs for phone is pretty much the same. There are a lot more editing features readily available on the n78, whereas the n73 is limited in that aspect.

During my trip I religously used Google Maps with fast loading times (even on edge). I was clicking and snapping away. With 4 gigs to spare and QIK's unlimited space online, I was rarely worried about running out of memory. What also was put to the test was the amazing battery life for this phone. I was constantly multi-tasking between the gallery, gmaps, jaiku and camera functions. The battery lasted me the whole day with a bar or two to spare even with moderate to heavy use in intervals. I pray the n78 is similar in performance.

In conclusion, I'll never leave home without my nseries device. It bundles as my music player, camera, navigation/maps, and full web browsing... lets not forget the basic phone functions as well.
